SUMMER GIVEAWAY FINALE! Two winners – Serena and Lily Sling and Take-Me-Home Gift Set
It’s been a fun summer of giveaways for us and we are sad to see it end. But we are ending it with a BANG – with two products for two winners, generously provided by Serena and Lily! Their products are consistently well made and we are so pleased to give those of you, who have not had a chance to personally experience their products, a chance to win one of their eco-friendly items. As you may recall, we’ve blogged about these two organic and gorgeous items before – the Serena and Lily Market Sling and the Take-Me-Home Gift Set.
This time, we are giving away the color “punch” (aka pink) Take-Me-Home Set – perfect for any baby shower gift or gift for your own baby girl (or confident baby boy, LOL). Retails for $68.
And for another winner, we have the Market Sling in Cloud/Petal in size Medium. Retails for $129.
To win: comment on which item you would like to win and what you do to help the environment. If it’s as simple as not asking for a bag when you buy a book – so be it. We love great tips on saving mother earth! If you would like to win both, comment separately on each item. Good luck! Winner will be drawn and notified next Wednesday, August 26th.
UPDATE: Zmama and Scott are the winners via random drawing. Thank you all for participating and being excited about the finale! Look for future giveaways in the future – though they will not be as condensed as the summer giveaway.

I’m so excited about this giveaway! My first choice to win would be the market sling, I’ve had my eye on it forever! I know that this is a VERY small way to conserve, but I have taken to buying the dairy and produce that is close to its expiration date at the grocery store and then eating it really fast! It saves me some money and limits waste as these items would be thrown out otherwise. As I say, very small, but at least it’s something. Thanks for offering this Joanne!

Ok, I had to post a comment about the gift set too, because I love the one I have and my sister is due a few weeks before me and I would love to see the little cousins in matching outfits! Another thing I’m doing to try and conserve…I’ve started to turn off the AC at certain times during the day to save some money and energy. Again small, but hopefully effective!

Wow..these are really nice. I love the market sling. It makes me want to have another girl (don’t tell my hubby this.. lol). The latest thing that I did was stop buying bottled water. I went to costco and bought one of their 9pack rubberamid refillable water bottles. It’s convenient to use and refill, and light to carry just like bottled waters. I alwasy keep all bottles filled so they’re ready to go. This saves me money and the environment

What a cute sling! I would love to be able to win that. Well there are several things I have started doing in order to save the environment: When grocery shopping, I ask for paper instead of plastic and then I go home and re-use the paper bags or recycle them, I’ve replaced all bulbs in my home with compact florescent lighting to save energy, and I donate clothes and household items every month so others that are less fortunate can re-use and make use of them again. Even if I don’t win, at least mother earth will be a little happier

Erica Hennings – I did get your comment for the market sling, but it’s placed in an odd space and I can’t re-route it to this post. I’m not sure how you got the comment there, but this comment here will be in recognition of that. Thanks!

I would love to win the Take-Me-Home set. What a great gift idea! How we save the environment and get our daughter involved is by buying childrens books made out of recycled material. The Lorax by Dr. Sues started The Lorax Project which helps my husband and I instill these ideas and captivate her attention. Check it out… http://lorax.conservation.org/ There is also Little Green Books, which makes a fantastic series http://simonlittlegreen.com/

I would love to win the Market Sling for a girlfriend of mine due in 3 weeks. Another way we try to save the environment and eliminate waste is by only using previously worn/hand-me-downs for our ever fast growing daughter. With web sites such a http://www.zwaggle.com/ more moms can find what they need even if they don’t know too many to swap with. Here they can acquire points and trade products to keep the recycling of baby/kids products ever continuing.

Awesome prizes! I would love to win the sling for my upcoming #2! I’ve always wanted to try a sling and hope it will relieve some of the strain of carrying baby #1 all the time!! What I do for the environment: I take my own ‘Method Plastic bag rehab bags’ everywhere with me and use them for grocery shopping instead of plastic bags!! These bags by Method are pretty cool looking, comfy and spacious!!

I’d also love to win the Baby set for a very good friend who is expecting a baby girl in mid september! This would be so perfect for her!! Please count us in! Another thing we do for mother earth: We minimize our use of plastic stuff–especially toys and containers. And we reuse all our paper bags! We use them for wrapping packages, gifts, and for art work!!

WOW! These give aways have been such a treat! I love reading about each of these sites and products I didn’t even know were out there! I would love to win the Market sling…it is BEAUTIFUL! Maybe if I win it, then God will bless us with baby #2.
As for helping the environment…we use re-usable grocery bags (that are the best bags EVER) by BAGGU. Big (fit 3 normal grocery bags worth), nylon (so durable), and bright orange to match our orange car! We also try to always buy local food (farmers markets and CSA) to not only support local farmers, but to cut down on all the emissions that come with shipping food to our grocery stores.

Back again to try and win this sling for my wife, I can’t tell you how badly she wants one! I’ve been trying to be more environmentally friendly(and budget friendly) by riding my bike to work at least 3 times a week. It’s actually fun, and I’m also getting into shape as an added bonus.

I would love to win the Market Sling! It’s beautiful, and I’m a huge fan of wearing our baby. In our household, we’re big fans of the three R’s: reduce, recycle, and reuse, especially reuse. I believe we can get a lot more use out of stuff than we might think. An empty paper towel roll makes a great “telescope” or blowhorn for our 2-year-old Brandon. Bills and spam mail make great scribble paper for our boy, too. And those big cardboard boxes? He flips them over and uses them as tables for his artwork and snacking or sits in it and reads. And the best part? They’re free! So when they become beyond usable, we just recycle them!

The Market Sling would be perfect to carry baby in. My husband and I love the great outdoors so we try our best to be as environmentally conscious as we can. We bring our own bags to the grocery store. We try to recycle everything that we can. So our recycling bin is twice the size of the trash bin. Lately, my husband’s been trying to compost our organic waste. I didn’t like the idea of this at first since it means leaving a bag of decaying food around until hubby can bury it in the yard. But if it’s better for the environment, then we must do our best to help. As long as he’s not making a hill with our tiny patch of grass.

I love the market sling! In order to eliminate our carbon footprint on this earth, we have been doing a number of things this year. We take our own bags to grocery shopping, we air dry our laundry, we recycle, we clean with active ion, and with this pregnancy, we bought all used.

Oh, I would LOVE to win that beautiful sling, the colors are gorgeous!! My contributions are to cloth diaper, to use re-usable grocery bags, and to recycle!! My biggest effort is in cloth diapering. I can’t stand the thought of billions of poopy disposable diapers rotting in the ground for hundreds of years. Nor, the chemicals in disposables near my sons skin!!

I thought I’d try for the gift set too…We’ve recently stopped purchasing bottled water and have bought a filter for our tap instead. We just fill reusable bottles with the filtered water and put them in the refridgerator and take them when we need them.

I’d love to win that sling for one of my new grandbabies(and their mom, of course!) We have been recycling for quite some time now, it’s too bad that most cities charge a fee for that service!
August 25th, 2009 at 3:38 pm
I would love to give that gift set to somebody too! Another thing we have done is to get reusable shopping bags for things like groceries, the bags really aren’t that expensive, maybe .99 each, and I don’t have plastic grocery bags coming out of my ears! I always felt to guilty to just throw them away, I thought I could reuse them somehow, LOL.

i would love the sling!! i remember when your summer giveaways first started and i was in awe of how gorgeous it was!!
for the environment- actually when we eat out for lunch at restaurants which use plastic disposable cups… we take these cups home with us to reuse them around the house or to take to work/in the car instead of paper cups! many times the disposable plastic cup take 3,5,or 7 yrs to break down, so we do our part to help reuse them as much possible. We’re also a huge fan of reuseable cloth diapers, since it’s horrible to think disposables take sooo long to decompose! thanks again bliss nine!

The Sling would be my pick! Its the perfect gift for my sister’s new baby! I try to go green by biking everywhere instead of driving and encouraging my friends to do the same!
